Papa's Favorite Turnip Soup

Ingredients
- 1 large diced onion
- 3 C. diced carrots
- 3-4 medium size turnips, cut in 1-inch squares
- 2 C. diced celery
- 3 8 oz. cans cannelini beans
- 2 Tbs. pesto
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 2 28 oz. cans diced tomatoes
- 2 quarts chicken broth or enough to cover
- 2-3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 1 1/2 tsp. paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Brown the sausage with garlic in olive oil. Add chicken broth and the remaining ingredients. Bring to boil and turn down to simmer. Simmer until vegetables are tender.
