Pasta and Fresh Tomato Sauce

Looking for a quick, Italian pasta dinner? This recipe has an amazing homemade tomato sauce, too!

5 min preparation + 15 min cooking


  • 4 oz. dried rotini or fusilli
  • 2 C. coarsely chopped plum tomatoes
  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbs. shredded fresh basil
  • 1/4 C. shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Cook the pasta according to package directions; drain.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan combine tomatoes, olive oil and salt. Cook over medium-low heat until heated through and tomatoes start to juice-out slightly. Stir in basil.
Divide pasta among 4 plates. Top each serving with some of the tomato mixture. Sprinkle with cheese and pepper.
