Peanut Butter Cookies

This is an old time classic recipe for the fabulous peanut butter cookies with a big chocolate kiss in the middle.

Ingredients

  • 1 C. peanut butter (plain or crunchy)
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 C. chocolate chips (optional)

Directions

Thoroughly mix all ingredients together. Roll into large walnut-sized balls. Press down on cookie sheet with the back of a fork to make crosshatch design. Bake for 7-10 minutes at 350 degrees.

Makes 18-24 cookies.

  • I have also had a disappointing experience with this recipe. When my daughter called and said she was making this recipe, I snickered to myself. When she called me and told me of her horrible experience, I then shared my own with her. I would agree with others, this recipe is missing a main ingredient.

  • This recipe has caused the biggest mess I think I have ever had in my oven.
    These greasy "cookies" slid off my cookie sheet as I was taking them out of the oven, after baking for 9 minutes. They fell as globs onto the electric heating elements.
    Those left on the cookie sheet had to be discarded because they appear as a flattened glob of grease, not fit fo human consumption. Can also be considered dangerous. In my lifetime, I have made thousand of cookies and never had such a diasterous mess. This recipe should be removed from the R4L site.

  • AWESOME!!!! I just saw Paula Dean cook these w/splenda on the Network channel and wondered it really worked w/regular sugar and no flour. Pretty amazing!!! Thanks!!!

  • Ingredients appear to be missing. If the above ingredients are prepared as stated and then put into the oven, I believe all that would happen is that there would be a melted mess on the cookie sheet.
