Peg's Dessert
Ingredients
- Crust:
- 1 C. flour
- 3 Tbs. sugar
- 1 stick margarine, melted
- 1 C. chopped pecans
- Filling:
- 1 8 oz. pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 C. powdered sugar
- 1 3.4 oz. pkg. vanilla instant pudding
- 1/4 C. milk
- 1 8 oz. package Cool Whip
- 2 15 oz. cans mandarin oranges, drained
- 1 10 oz. jar maraschino cherries, drained and cut in half, reserve 4 Tbs. juice
- 1/2 C. pecan chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.To make the crust, mix flour, sugar, margarine and nuts and press into a 9x13-inch dish. Place in oven and bake for 15 minutes, then cool completely.
For filling, mix cream cheese, sugar, pudding and milk until smooth. Gradually fold in cool whip and cherry juice and beat on low until smooth. Fold in fruit and nuts. Pour into crust. Chill 1 hour before serving.
