  • 2 sticks butter, unsalted
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ C. old fashioned oats
  • 2 C. flour
  • 1 ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 C. semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer. Beat in one egg at a time and finish by adding in vanilla. Fold this mixture into oat blend until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips. On a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, form dough into balls and place them 1 to 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
