  • 3 qt. string beans
  • 1 tsp. ground mustard
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 2 tsp. turmeric
  • 1/4 C. flour
  • 2 Tbs. salt
  • 3 C. sugar
  • 3 pt. vinegar

Cut beans into 1 inch pieces. Cook in salt water until tender, but not soft. Combine sugar, salt, flour, and spices with the vinegar. Cook together until slightly thickened. Add beans and bring to a boil. Put into hot jars and seal.
