Pineapple Dump Cake

- 1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple
- 1 21 oz. pie filling any flavor (I prefer cherries)
- 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
- 1/2 C. butter cut up
- 1 C. chopped pecans or almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13x9x2 inch pan. Dump pineapple into pan, spread evenly. Important, do not drain the pineapple prior to placement in the pan. Dump in pie filling and spread into one layer. Dump dry cake mix on pie filling layer, spread evenly. Sprinkle nuts over cake mix. Sprinkle cut up butter over top. Bake for 48 to 53 minutes. Serve warm or cool. Top with whipped cream or ice cream if desired. You can use any pie filling and walnuts may be used.
Alternatively, you may bake the mixture in a crockpot on low for 2-3 hours.
