Pinto Beans, Ham, and Rice

I discovered this recipe while making regular ham and beans. I had unexpected company and had to stretch the amount of food so I added rice and it was really good! The rice took to taste of the beans.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pinto beans
  • 2 C. cooked ham, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 6-8 C. water
  • 2 C. rice
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Cook beans as directed on package with ham until almost done, adding water as needed. Add rice and saltĀ and pepper to taste, and cook for the amount of time stated on the rice package. Serve with corn bread.
