Pizza Calzones
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 C. warm water
- 2 Tbs. oil
- 1 Tbs. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 3/4 C. flour
- 1 jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 lb. sausage--cooked
- 1 C. pepperoni sausage--thinly sliced
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 2 C. mozzarella cheese--finely grated.
- 1 C. mushrooms(optional)
Directions
For dough:
Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl. Stir in salt, sugar, oil and 1 C. flour. Add Italian seasoning to dough. Mix in enough flour to make dough easy to handle. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Cover with a bowl and let rest for 5 minutes.
Roll dough into four 10-inch circles. Place sauce and toppings over half of the dough. Add 1/2 C. of cheese. Fold over and crimp edge shut. Place on foiled and greased cookie sheet. Cook for 25-30 minutes in a 375 degreeĀ over or until golden brown. After 15 minutes of cooking brush with melted butter.
