Panini’s are my favorite type of hot sandwich! Crispy bread with a melted cheese center makes a great meal for the day. Try this recipe for a pizza flavored Panini. Feel free to add your desired toppings.

  • ¼ C tomato sauce
  • 2 ciabatta rolls; cut
  • ½ Tbs dried oregano
  • 4 slices roasted ham
  • 1 Tbs red onions; diced
  • 2 chopped basil leaves
  • 1 tomato; sliced
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese
  • Pepper

Preheat the Panini press as instructed.

Lay out the bottom halves of the ciabatta rolls and add a layer of tomato sauce on each roll.

Then, sprinkle on some garlic, pepper and oregano and top it with 2 slices of ham. Then add equal amounts of onions, basil, sliced tomato and cheese onto each sandwich. Then add on the top half of the ciabatta and place it in the heated Panini press.

Cook for about 5 minutes until bread is brown and toasted and the cheese is well melted in the middle.

Remove and serve hot.
