Pizza Rustica-Inspired Strata
Serving Size / Yield
- 1/2 loaf crusty bread, cut into fine chunks
- 1 C. cooked ham julienned
- 6 large eggs
- 2 C. 2% milk
- 1/4 C. fresh basil leafs, chopped and sweated
- 1/2 C. shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 C. shredded mozzarella
- salt and pepper
- cooking spray
Preheat oven to 350º F.
In a medium bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, oregano, salt and pepper to taste, until well combined. Coat casserole dish with cooking spray and in alternating layers place the bread chunks, ham and cooked basil in the dish. Pour egg mixture over bread chunks mixture and top with cheeses.
Bake in oven for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm.
