I was trying to make up a recipe for some fried potatoes I had at Spanky's in Savannah, GA. I think mine are better! I get compliments everytime I serve them!

Ingredients

  • 2-3 large potatoes
  • 2/3 C. all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • 1 (5.3 oz) can evaporated milk
  • Claussen's pickle juice (claussen's pickles)

Directions

Slice potatoes into thin rounds, set aside. Mix the rest of the ingredients together. Add pickle juice last. (The batter will be thick, use the pickle juice to thin slightly, not a lot. You want it to stick to the potato!) Dip potato round into batter and then fry in oil or deep fryer until golden brown. Serve warm. Great with steak or hamburgers
