Try this recipe for the Polish style of pot roast. I make this whenever I know I am having company come over. It is definitely a favorite with my guests.

  • 3 lb. pot roast, browned
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 1/2 dried mushrooms and soak juice
  • 3 dill pickles
  • 1/4 C. bouillon
  • Bay leaf, peppercorns

Cook for 2 hours, add, stir in and serve: 1 C. sour cream.

  • what kind of recipe is this? it doesn't tell you if it's 1-1/2 mushrooms, 1-1/2 cups or pounds. the directions do not tell you what to start cooking and what to add ..... and what's with the 1 c sour cream?
