Pork Chops in Ginger Ale
Ingredients
- 1 large onions sliced
- 1/4 c. butter; divided
- 4 to 6 pork chops approx. 1" thick
- 2 Tbs. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 Tbs. ketchup
- 1 Tbs. flour
- 1 c. ginger ale
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Melt half of the butter in a skillet over medium heat; add onions; sauté until lightly browned. Remove onions to a 2 qt. baking dish. In the same skillet, brown the pork chops in remaining butter. Place chops over onions in the baking dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Blend ketchup with flour to form a paste; add ginger ale; stir well. Pour ginger ale mixture over the pork chops; sprinkle with salt and pepper if desired. Bake in a 350 oven for about 1 hour or until pork chops are tender
