This is a simple to make and delicious pound cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1 C. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 C. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs

Directions

Mix baking powder with flour. Cream butter and sugar. Add well-beaten egg. Mix thoroughly. Add flour and milk alternately to first mixture. Bake in tube pan which has been greased and dusted with flour for 50-60 minutes in a 350-degree moderate oven. Cool and ice.
