Poutine AKA Cheese Fries With Gravy
Serving Size / Yield
- 5 potatoes, sliced into fries
- 2 C. cheese curds (in a pinch, use a cubed block of cheddar)
- 1 10-oz. can beef gravy
- 1 qt. peanut oil, for frying
Heat oil in a deep fryer so that it reachers 365 degrees. In the meantime, warm the gravy in a small saucepan.
Fry the potatoes in the oil until they are lightly browned, approximately 5 minutes. Place onto a cookie sheet lined with paper towel to drain.
Place the fries onto the serving platter once drained but still hot. Sprinkle liberally with salt and pepper, then top with gravy and cheese. Serve.
