Crushed pretzels serve as the crust for a cream cheese and strawberry topping.

  • Crust:
  • 8 oz. pretzels, crushed
  • 3 Tbs. sugar
  • ¾ C. butter
  • 1 ( 8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 C. granulated sugar
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton frozen whipped topping
  • Filling:
  • 1 (6 oz.) package strawberry gelatin
  • 1 (16 oz.) package frozen strawberries

Mix pretzels, sugar and butter together and press into the bottom of a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Beat together cream cheese, sugar and half of the whipped topping. Pour over cooled crust. Refrigerate. Mix gelatin with 2 C. boiling water and stir to dissolve. Add frozen strawberries and stir until mixture is soft set. Spread over chilled mixture in pan and refrigerate until serving time. Cover with remaining whipped topping at serving time.

Yield: 12 to 15 servings.
