  • 8 slices cubed bread
  • 2 cups milk
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup raisins
  • 1 can pumpkin pie filling
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Begin by greasing your crockpot and put the cubed bread at the bottom of the pot. In a medium bowl, beat the milk and eggs together. Add the raisins, melted butter, pie filling, cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg. Stir well and pour over the bread. Stir the crockpot and cover the pot. Cook on high for 1 hour. Lower the heat and cook for 4 hours on low. In the last 10 minutes, melt the remaining butter in a saucepan and stir in the flour. Slowly add the water, vanilla, and then the sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil and then stir for 2 minutes. When the sauce is thickened, pour over the ready bread pudding and serve immediately.
