  • 6 apples, cored, peeled, and cubed
  • 1 T. lemon juice
  • ½ C. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon, divided
  • 1 ¼ C. flour, divided
  • ½ C. old-fashioned oats
  • ¾ C. brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
  • Dash salt
  • 1 ½ sticks butter, softened

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine apples, lemon juice, sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons of flour. Transfer to a greased baking dish and set aside. In a separate bowl, combine remaining flour, oats, brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cut in butter and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle mixture over apples and bake for 45 minutes until top is crisp and golden.
