Quick and Easy Beef Stroganoff

This beef stroganoff is tender and delicious and easy to make!

  • cubed beef stew meat or chuck steak
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 can golden mushroom soup
  • 1 16-oz. container sour cream
  • 1 bag wide noodles

Cut meat into bite-sized pieces and brown in olive oil or vegetable oil. Cut up onion and garlic and mix in with meat. After browning, add water and simmer approximately 1/2 hour. Stir in soup and simmer additional 30 minutes. Stir in sour cream. Prepare noodles. Pour stroganoff over the noodles and enjoy.

  • I agree, how much water do you recommend here? The last reviewer asked this question over 2 YEARS AGO can anyone please add the amount of water (beef broth, etc) that should be used in this recipe? Thanks! Want to try this but need complete details

  • This is a terific recipe now that the nights are getting chilly.
    I like to use sirloin, so when it is on sale I buy it, cut it into small cubes and freeze it in one pound packages. These are so handy when I want to make a four serving batch of chili, stew, and now stroganoff.
    To cut the calories, I used plain Greek yougurt instead of the sour cream. It doesn't affect the taste and my family loves it. I also had some fresh mushrooms, so I added them too.
    A real keeper...!

  • you don't list an amount of water. why not use beef broth? it will give the meat more flavor.
