  • 10 Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 1 1/2 C. milk
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 T. butter
  • 1/4 C. sour cream
  • 1 T. chives
  • Salt and peper to taste

Peel the potatoes and cut them into sizable chunks. In a large pot, cover them will cool water. Heat to a boil and continue cooking for 12 minutes. in a small pan, combine milk and smashed garlic and bring to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat. Drain potatoes and mash them using a potato masher. for extra smoothness, also use a hand mixer. Put them back on heat to dry them slightly. Remove the garlic cloves from the milk and discard. Add the milk, butter, sour cream, salt, pepper, and chives to the potatoes. Mix together well and serve.
