Quirky Turkey Chipotle Chili

This really is an effortless chili. Just add the ingredients and stir occasionally. The chipotle chilies in the adobo sauce are now more common in grocery stores, and that would probably be the only ingredient that is a little uncommon. Everything else should be readily available. This is a great tasting chili. You can regulate the heat by only adding 1/4 of a can instead of 1/2 of can of chilies. I also take out the chilies prior to serving, but you could cut these up when you are adding to the recipe.

On a medium-high burner, brown meat in a large stew pot; stir often. Once meat has browned, add onion, bell pepper, garlic, chilies, chili seasoning, chili powder, salt, pepper, and sugar. Mix well. Fold in beans, tomatoes, and salsa. Mix. Turn burner down to medium heat and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve warm in bowls with teaspoons of shredded cheese on top.
