  • 2 Tbs. butter, softened
  • 1 C. water
  • 4 C. flour, unpacked
  • 1/2 C. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. active dry yeast
  • 3/4 C. oats, set aside 1/4 C.
  • 1 C. raisins
  • 1 C. almonds

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, beat water and softened butter. Add flour, sugar, salt, yeast and oats. Gently mix until ingredients are well-blended. Knead dough for about 8 minutes on lightly floured surface. Place dough back into bowl and cover. Allow dough to rise for at least 30 minutes.

Return dough to floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes. Let it sit for 10 minutes and punch dough down five times. Place dough back into bowl and cover it so it can rise for 45 minutes. Garnish with raisins and almonds. Place dough in pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until tops are brown. Allow it to cool before slicing.
