Raspberry Sweet Tea

Received this recipe from a Southern friend years ago and it has been a favorite in our household ever since. We even enjoy it during the winter and we have it at all holidays. The color and fact it is so tasty and blends with so many foods is main reason I prepare so often.

  • 2 C. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 gallon water
  • 3 family size or 6 regular raspberry flavored tea bags
  • Cold water as needed
  • Ice cubes

Bring gallon of water to a full rolling boil. Remove from heat and add tea bags. Let stand to steep for 6 minutes. Remove tea bags and return tea to heat. Bring to a full boil. Add sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour into large pitcher or container and add enough ice cubes to fill pitcher half full. Fill picher the rest of the way with cold water. Stir well to blend and chill overnight before serving.
