Red Hot Cinnamon Baked Apples
- 6 Granny Smith apples
- 1/2 C. packed brown sugar
- 1/3 C. cinnamon Red Hot candies
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 8x8-inch square pan. Peel and core apples, leaving approximately 1/2-inch at the bottom of each apple. Arrange apples in baking dish. Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon red hot candies, and cinnamon. Fill each apple cavity with brown sugar and cinnamon mixture topping each cavity with a few extra cinnamon red hot candies. Sprinkle any extra brown sugar mixture over the apples.Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes or until apples are tender. Baste apples a couple of times with the juices from the baking apples to keep the apples moist. Double or triple recipe for serving a larger crowd using a larger cassserole dish and increase baking time accordingly until apples are tender.
