  • 2 Tbs. oil
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 (14.5 oz.) cans diced tomatoes, drained
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • Sat and pepper, to taste

In a skillet, heat the oil and add the ground beef, sausage, onion, and garlic. Cook until browned, or about 4 to 5 minutes. Drain the excess fat. Place the ground beef mixture in a crockpot and stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, bay leaves, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
