  • 2 C. sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • Dash salt
  • 1 C. water
  • ½ C. vegetable oil
  • 1 stick butter
  • ¼ C. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ C. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • Chocolate frosting

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. In a saucepan, bring water, oil, butter, and cocoa to a boil. Stir well and pour over dry ingredients. Mix in eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, and baking soda. Once well combined, pour into a greased baking pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let cool and frost.
