Rich German Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients
- 1 12 oz. bag semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 C. butter or regular margarine
- 1 C. sugar
- 1 1/4 C. all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 tub coconut pecan ready-to-spread frosting
- 1 6 oz. bag semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 C. chopped walnuts
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt 2 C. chocolate chips and the butter in a 3 quart saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly, then remove from the heat. Stir in the sugar, flour, vanilla, baking powder, salt, and the eggs. Spread the mixture in an ungreased 13x9-inch baking dish. Bake for 27-34 minutes or until the center is set. Cool completely, about one hour. Mix the frosting, 1 C. chocolate chips, and the walnuts in a medium bowl. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.
