Ingredients
- 2 C. sugar
- 1/2 C. light corn syrup
- 1/2 C. water
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 C. walnuts, chopped
Directions
Boil the sugar, syrup, and water, stirring constantly, to a hard ball stage (250 degrees on candy thermometer). Remove from heat. Beat egg whites and salt until stiff; slowly add sugar mixture and continue beating until mixture becomes stiff again. Stirring by hand, add the vanilla and fold in chopped nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
