Russ's Stewed Tomatoes

Ingredients
- 2 Tbs. cornstarch
- ½ C. water
- 4 lg. tomatoes, peeled, quartered
- 4 Tbs. sugar
- 2 Tbs. butter
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- Dash of pepper
Directions
In a medium saucepan, combine the tomatoes, sugar, butter, seasoned salt and pepper. Cover and bring to boil, stirring frequently. In a smaller sauce pan combine cornstarch and water, mix until smooth. Stir into the tomato mixture. Cover and cook five minutes longer or until thickened and bubbly. Note: This is a basic recipe, sugar, salt, and cornstarch (a thickening agent) can all be adjusted for taste and thickness. Some cooks also add pieces of bread to the mixture while cooking.
