  • 2 C. lukewarm water
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 Tbs. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 4 C. bread flour
  • 1 Tbs. cornmeal

Mix water, yeast, sugar and salt in a large bowl until dissolved. Stir in bread flour. Turn dough on a floured plate. Clean bowl and grease with butter. Return the dough to the bowl and cover with a damp towel. Let it rise until double its size. Grease baking sheet and sprinkle with cornmeal. Flour your hands and divide the dough into 2 parks. Shape each into a loaf. Place loaves on baking sheet. Let it rise until doubled. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake loaves for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 degrees F. Bake for 20 minutes. Let loaves cool on wire rack.
