Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2/3 C. bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 large onions - sliced
  • 2 cans (10 oz.. each) condensed beef broth
  • 2 cans (4 oz.. each) mushrooms - drained
  • 1/4 C. cold water
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch

Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and eggs; shape into 8 oval patties, each about 3/4" thick. Cook patties over medium heat, turning occasionally, until brown, about 10 minutes; drain. Add onions, broth and mushrooms. Heat to boiling, reduce heat. Cover and simmer until beef is done, about 10 minutes.
