  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs

In a skillet over medium heat, heat up 1 cup sugar. Stir until a dark amber color. Add in the cream and cook until caramel has dissolved. Move to a bowl and add in sea salt and vanilla. In a saucepan, bring milk, remaining cream and sugar to a boil. In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, adding in the hot milk mixture. Pour into saucepan and cook. Freeze custard in ice cream maker overnight.
