The best thing about crockpots is being able to create a whole meal with one dish. This awesome sausage and peppers recipe is simple and filling. Serve it with rice and dinner is bound to be delicious.

  • 5-6 medium garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 4 green bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 Tbs. salt
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 (28-oz.) can unsalted crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 C. cold water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 3/4-2 lb. uncooked Italian sausage

Chop garlic. Peel, halve, and thinly slice the onions. Slice bell peppers in half, remove seeds and ribs, and cut them into slices. Add sliced peppers, salt, Italian seasoning, oregano, red pepper flakes, water, and tomatoes. Mix together. Place sausage in the crockpot and cover with pepper mix. Add bay leaf. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
