Sausage Gravy for Biscuits
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. lean bulk sausage
- 1/4 C. butter or margarine
- 1/3 C. flour
- 3-1/4 C. milk
- 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
Directions
Brown sausage in a large skillet, cooking until it crumbles: drain well and set aside. Melt butter in skillet; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook stirring constantly for about 1 minute. Gradually add milk and bring to a boil over medium to low heat, stirring until thickened. Stir in sausage and seasonings, cook until heated, stirring constantly. Serve over split biscuits.
