Sausage 'n Cheese Tarts

Whether for breakfast or finger food at a gathering, these fluffy tarts satisfy.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. bulk pork sausage
  • 1 1/4 C. Bisquick baking mix
  • 1/4 C. margarine or butter, softened
  • 2 Tbs. boiling water
  • 1/2 C. Half & Half
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbs. thinly sliced green onions
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 C. shredded Swiss cheese

Directions

Generously grease 12 muffin cups (mini cups can be used instead of regular size - adjust baking time to approx. 15 minutes). Cook and stir sausage until brown; drain. Mix baking mix and margarine. Add boiling water; stir vigorously until soft dough forms. Press 1 level tablespoonful of dough on bottom and up side of each cup. Divide sausage evenly among Cups. Beat Half & Half and egg; stir in onions and salt. Spoon about 1 tablespoonful into each cup; sprinkle cheese over tops. Bake at 350 degrees until edges are golden brown and centers are set, about 25 minutes. Refrigerate any remaining tarts.
