  • 2 onions, chopped
  • ½ cup saltines, crushed
  • 1 egg white, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk, 2%
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1¼ lb ground beef, lean
  • 1 jar beef gravy
  • 1½ fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1½ tablespoons oil

In a large bowl, combine onions, saltines, egg white, milk, salt and pepper. Crumble the beef and mix into the bowl. Shape 4 oval steak patties. In a large skillet, heat the oil and cook patties for 5 minutes on each side, or until no pink remains. Remove the patties and keep warm. In a medium skillet, sauté the onions and mushrooms for about 4 minutes, or until tender. Add the gravy and water to skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, or until heated through. Add the onions and mushrooms to the skillet and mix in.
