This recipe is a twist on the classic banana split! Sauteing the bananas in butter before topping them with ice cream and other topping gives it a flavor reminiscent of warm apple crisp.

  • 1 Tbs. butter
  • 4 bananas, peeled and halved lengthwise
  • ice cream of choice
  • warm hot fudge sauce
  • whipped cream

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add the bananas and saute for 1 minute on each side, or until just golden brown. Transfer the bananas into 4 shallow dessert bowls and top with ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and additional toppings as desired.
