An Italian beef is a great combination of juicy beef and hot peppers, tossed in-between a nice toasted piece of bread. This iconic sandwich can all be easily made with the use of a crockpot.

  • 4 lbs. rump roast
  • 2 tsp. basil
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 4 serrano peppers, sliced
  • 1 celery stalk, sliced
  • hoagie rolls
  • water

Place beef inside of crockpot. Set aside
Toss all other ingredients in a deep pan over high heat.
Pour about 4 cups of water over ingredients and let it come to a boil
Stir mixture for about 3 minutes then pour over beef
Place cover on crockpot and turn on high
Cook for about 4 hours or until beef is soft enough to shred with a fork
When done, shred beef and place all ingredients on hoagie rolls
