This rice cake and cracker mix is flavored with garlic and chili powder.

Ingredients

  • 6 4" rice or popcorn cakes, broken into bite-size pieces
  • 2 C. bite-size, low-salt, cheese-flavored or low-salt, plain, bite-size crackers
  • 2 Tbs. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Directions

In a large plastic bag with a tight-fitting seal, combine rice-cake pieces and crackers. In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, chili powder, and garlic powder. Pour over cracker mixture, seal bag and gently shake mixture until well-coated. Transfer to a baking sheet. Bake at 325º F., uncovered, for 25 minutes, stirring once or twice during baking. Spread mixture onto paper towels to cool. The mix can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
