Savory Wild Rice Manitoba

Ingredients
- 3/4 c. wild rice
- 3 C. water
- salt
- pepper
- 1/4 C. butter
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2/3 C. raisins
- 1/2 C. sliced almonds
- pinch cinnamon
Directions
Soak the rice overnight. Drain and wash well. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Season and add wild rice. Boil for 40 minutes until rice is tender. Meanwhile, heat the butter in a skillet and sauté the onion until golden. Add raisins, flaked almonds, cinnamon and season with salt and pepper. Add the strained, cooked rice and heat through.
