  • 1 3/4 C. flour
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbs. melted butter
  • 1 C. milk
  • 2 eggs, whites and yolks separated
  • 1/4 C. powdered sugar, for topping

Mix and sift dry ingredients. Beat egg yolk with the milk. Add salt and add to dry ingredients. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Mix until smooth. Pour batter into waffle iron and cook until golden brown.
