Simple Asparagus With Lemon

- 1 lb. asparagus
- 2 Tbs. olive oil
- 1/8 tsp.salt
- 1/8 tsp.pepper
- 1 lemon, zested and halved
- 1 oz.butter
Cut the ends off of the asparagus.
Heat the olive oil in a large pan until shimmering and about to smoke. Add the asparagus in a single layer and salt and pepper liberally. Sear over medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Turn often.
The asparagus is done when easily pierced with a fork.
Remove the asparagus from the pan and onto a serving dish. Squeeze lemon juice liberally over it and place dabs of butter over the spears. Serve immediately.
