  • 1 refrigerated pie crust, softened as directed by box
  • 1 C. packed brown sugar
  • 1 C. light corn syrup
  • 5 Tbs. butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 C. chopped pecans

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Using a 9 inch pie plate, make the pie crust as directed for a one-crust filled pie.

In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently, over medium-high heat. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and salt. Cool for 10 minutes before beating in the eggs until well combined. Stir in the pecans and pour the mixture in to the crust.

Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until set. Let the pie cool completely before cutting, which may take up to 1 hour.
