A very quick and simple way to make syrup for any dessert you feel needs some.

Ingredients

  • 2 C. water
  • 2 C. sugar

Directions

To make the syrup, bring the sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan, stirring frequently for about 6 minutes or until sugar is completely dissolved. Let syrup cool.

Note: You can make the syrup ahead of time and keep covered in the fridge.

  • Thank you for confirming what I thought I knew. This is the recipe for simple syrup that I learned years ago, but I recently saw someone post somewhere as 2 cups water, 1 cup sugar. I think the ratio of 1:1 works best. A ratio of
    1:1\2 just makes sugar water.
