  • 1 C. softened butter
  • 2 3/4 C. flour
  • 1 1/2 C. granulated sugar
  • 1 lg. egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • pink sprinkles
  • red sprinkles

Preheat oven to 375ยบ.

In a small bowl combine dry ingredients, except sprinkles and set aside. In a large mixing bowl cream butter, sugar and vanilla extract. Then add beaten egg and beat until well combined. Gradually beat in dry ingredient, once dough is mixed well enough to roll out lightly flour a work surface and place dough onto it. If dough is too soft to manipulate add flour in one tablespoon at a time,

Lightly flour a rolling pin and roll dough out until it's about one inch thick. Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut as many cookies out as dough will allow. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. And place each cookie onto sheet and place in oven.

Let bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges start to brown. Take cookies out and let cool for about 5 minutes. Top each cookie with red or pink sprinkles and serve.
