Sinful Popovers

These popovers are a quick and easy dessert! When I brought this to my husband, he said these were sinful but when we were done, he said they were sinless because he ate them all.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 C. milk
  • 1 Tbs. butter (softened)
  • 1 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbs. cocoa powder
  • chocolate syrup (optional)

Directions

Place eggs, milk, butter, flour, and salt in mixer bowl. Use wire whip. Turn to speed 4 or medium for 15 seconds then stop. Add cocoa powder and scrape bowl. Beat again at medium speed for 15 more seconds.

Fill 8 heavily-greased and floured custard cups half full with the batter. Place cups on cookie sheet. Place cookie sheet in cold oven and set heat at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 20-25 minutes.

When you remove, cover in chocolate syrup and serve immediately.
