These quick baked beans are a great side dish!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1 medium-large onion, quartered and thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • three 16-oz. cans navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/3 C. ketchup
  • 3 Tbs. maple syrup
  • 1 Tbs. molasses
  • 1 1/2 tsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger

Heat oil in a skillet.  Add onion and saute until translucent.  Add garlic and continue to saute until onion is golden. 


Add remaining ingredietnts, plue 3 tablespoons water, stir, and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally.  This should take about 10 to 15 minutes.

  • I love your recipe. To me, the ingredients are the real way to make baked beans. It is even less expensive if you use dried navy beans and soak and then cook them first. But your way is very fast and easy.
