  • 1 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1 C. yellow cornmeal
  • 1 T sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 C. buttermilk
  • 1/3 C. butter, melted
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 T. butter

Heat oven to 400°F.
Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in bowl.
Stir in buttermilk, melted butter, and eggs until mixture is moistened.
Heat 1 T. butter in heavy cast iron 10-inch skillet.
Pour batter immediately into pan.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Serve warm.
