Here is a tasty, basic chili recipe that you can make using your crockpot. Toss the browned meat into the pot with your veggies and spices and cook on low for eight hours until a glorious pot chili takes form.

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • ¾ C Onion, diced
  • ¾ C Celery, finely diced
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 Yellow Bell Pepper
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1 Carrot, sliced
  • 2 10.75-oz cans Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 15-oz cans Kidney Beans, drained
  • 1 can Chili Beans
  • 1 can Green Chiles
  • ½ tbs Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp dried Parsley
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ¾ tsp dried Basil
  • ¾ tsp dried Oregano
  • ¼ tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Hot Pepper Sauce

Begin this recipe for slow cooker chili by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the beef and let cook for about four to five minutes on each side until evenly browned.

Set the beef in your crockpot along with the onion, celery, bell peppers, garlic, carrot, diced tomatoes with their juices, kidney beans, chili beans, and all of your spices. Stir the ingredients until well combined.

Cover and cook on low for eight hours or until your meat is tender.
